"God Gives Us" - This seal depicts a cornucopia, or a "horn of plenty." It symbolizes abundance, wealth and prosperity, which I wish for you in this harvest season. |
Did you know that the horn of plenty actually dates back to Greek mythology?
Ancient Greeks believed that when baby Zeus was cared for by Amalthea he broke off one of her horns, from which an endless supply of food sprang.
This pagan motif eventually became a Christian image associated with the harvest, and we now associate it with autumn/winter feasts including Thanksgiving.
The seal is inscribed "God gives us," which reminds us of all of the prosperity we have around us.
Stay tuned for more updates including the rescheduled live session for antique seal collecting AND my very first modern seal design, which is a limited-edition seal available for the holidays.
With love and gratitude,
