This work is a painted interpretation of Hopestill Horse, created from an original seal impression and rendered by hand with meticulous detail. Pressed, painted, and finished by Kathryn Hastings, it transforms a symbolic seal into a contemplative artwork meant to live within the home as both a presence and a pause.

The horse has long symbolized freedom, intuition, and adventure. It carries the spirit of wide horizons and uncharted paths. Yet this is not a horse in flight or fire. Hopestill is introspective. Relaxed. Enjoying his day.

He stands beneath beautiful blue western skies, vast and open, clouds drifting slowly overhead. There is space here. Breath. A sense of being unhurried in one’s own strength.
