This week, I had the joy of sending the very first Hastings Étuis to their new homes. My heart is so full knowing that together, we’re building a future where letter writing and wax seals flourish as both art and ritual.

As I reflect on this moment, I’m reminded of the ancient Greek proverb: “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” It’s a beautiful thought—to create something meaningful for future generations—but it also carries a tinge of wistfulness, knowing we may miss some of the greatness we’re helping to shape. The étui is unique in that we're planting trees while enjoying them too.

Right now, we are the spark—the first 99—but this is just the beginning. Like the ripple effect of an aurora, the glow will spread far beyond what we can see today. One day, people will actively check the Collector’s Register, seeking out all of the first edition Hastings Étuis. They’ll track them down, forming connections and friendships rooted in their shared passion for letters and seals. Just as we’ve found one another, future generations will come together, drawn by this shared love.

Though there are only 99 Étuis today, each one is a spark that will illuminate thousands of lives—through beauty, creativity, and the art of slowing down to connect deeply with ourselves, others, and time itself.

Together, we are creating something timeless, something that ripples through the present and into the future, much like an aurora lighting up the night sky. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey.

To help you master this mesmerizing technique, I’ve curated a limited number of kits, complete with all the essential supplies you’ll need to bring these enchanting effects to life.

This process embodies the heart of wax seal artistry—embracing slowness, savoring creative discovery, and finding beauty in the details. There’s a touch of pure magic in watching the sealing wax shift and shimmer as it transforms under a magnetic wand.
